Question: Briefly Explain the three attributes of Servant Leaders you have learned after reading the Journal Article by Russell and Stone. Answer: Three attribute of servant leadership VisionCommunicationHonesty and integrity Vision Servant leader should be able to conceptualize the future of the company, he or she must be able to see the unforeseen for happenings in terms of company objectives and mission. The leader is then able to provide direction and strategic way forward for the organization which he/she leads. The vision created should be compelling, empowering and unites the members or the stakeholders of the organization towards organizational objectives. (Russell, Gregory Stone, 2002) Communication Servant leader must be able to communicate the vision of his or organization to all stake holders including the employees for effective implementation of the company strategic plan and meeting company objectives. The leader must be able to act in such ways that the subjects he or she is leading are able see actions from the leader that are in tandem with the vision of the company. This doesnt have to be spoken words but also non vocal communication such as wearing branded company shirt to boost marketing. (Russell, Gregory Stone, 2002) Honesty and integrity For the team to be able to buy into the team leaders vision and ideas the leader must demonstrate honesty and integrity. Honesty means stands for truthfulness while integrity is maintaining the established moral codes and way of doing things at the organization. The leader earns respect if he /she portray honesty and integrity among his or her team. It bestows credibility upon the leader and makes the people he or she is leading to trust the leaders direction because they are confident it is fair, measured and competent.
